This week there is an exciting lineup of OTT and movie releases. Whether you are drawn to love stories, thrillers or comedies, there is a plethora of series and movies you can enjoy this week. Akshay Kumar starrer Housefull 5 is making its OTT debut, and Jason Momoa's Chief of War will also stream online. Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri's Dhadak 2 is releasing in theatres with Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2. Vijay Deverakonda's Kingdom is also arriving on the big screen.

An Honest Life – July 31 (Netflix)

Simon Lööf plays Simon, a law student who gets entangled in deception, lies, and crime, after he arrives in Lund, Sweden, for a course. The thriller also stars Nora Rios, Peter Andersson, Nathalie Merchant and Willy Ramnek Petri.

Glass Heart – July 31 (Netflix)

The Japanese musical drama series is based on Mio Wakagi’s acclaimed novel. It follows the story of a college student Akane Saijo (Yu Miyazaki), an aspiring drummer who is dropped from her band. Things change when prodigious musician Naoki Fujitani (Takeru Satoh) invites her to join his group TENBLANK. Saijo embarks on a new musical journey with Sho Takaoka (Keita Machida) who plays guitar and pianist Kazushi Sakamoto (Jun Shison).

Leanne – July 31 (Netflix)

Leanne Morgan plays a Southern grandmother whose life turns upside down when her husband leaves her for another woman. She rediscovers herself amidst family drama, gossip and dating. The comedy series also stars Kristen Johnston, Celia Weston, Blake Clark, Graham Rogers and Hannah Pilkes, among others.

Marked – July 31 (Netflix)

The six-episode thriller follows Babalwa (Lerato Mvelase), an ex-cop turned cash-in-transit guard, whose daughter Palesa (Ama Qamata) is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. As she faces financial crisis, Babalwa, along with her friend Tebza (S’dumo Mtshali) and newcomer Zweli (Sphamandla Dhludhu) plans to execute a heist to save her daughter's life.

Chief of War – August 1 (Apple TV+)

Set in late-18th-century Hawai‘i, Chief of War stars Jason Momoa. He plays Ka‘iana, a warrior who returns home after traveling the world, and discovers that his homeland is shattered by internal conflict and is facing threat of Western colonisation. Ka‘iana with a war campaign aims to unite the warring sovereigns of the islands to fight against the threat. The series is about cultural survival against the odds.

Housefull 5 – August 1 (Prime Video)

Housefull 5, which had a theatrical release on June 6, will debut on OTT. It stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Panday, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, and Dino Morea, among others.

Thammudu – August 1 (Netflix)

The action-drama starring Nithiin in the lead role, is about an emotional story of a brother and sister. It is a story of love, sacrifice and resilience. It will be available to stream in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

My Oxford Year – August 1 (Netflix)

Inspired by Julia Whelan's novel of the same name, the story follows American grad student Anna De La Vega (Sofia Carson) who studies at Oxford University. She falls for Jamie Davenport (Corey Mylchreest), a charming Brit who hides a secret that turns her life upside down.

Beyond the Bar, Pati Patni Aur Panga, Bakaiti, and Perfect Match Season 3 are some of the other OTT releases you can watch this week.

Theatrical releases this week

Kingdom – July 31

Vijay Deverakonda starrer Kingdom (Hindi title: Saamrajya) is set for theatrical release on July 31, 2025. Directed by National award-winner Gowtam Tinnanuri, it is a high-octane gangster saga that tells the story of bond between two brothers.

Dhadak 2 – August 1

Set in the backdrop of class system, Dhadak 2 stars Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi in the lead roles. As Neelesh (Chaturvedi) belongs to a lower caste and Vidhi (Dimri) comes from a higher and privileged one, their relationship goes through a series of hurdles. It is based on the 2018 Tamil movie Pariyerum Perumal.

Son of Sardaar 2 – August 1

It is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 action comedy film Son of Sardaar. Ajay Devgn is reprising his role. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur, Neeru Bajwa, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Vindu Dara Singh, Deepak Dobriyal, Dolly Ahluwalia, and Chunky Panday, among others.
