Met Gala 2023: Alia Bhatt Makes Her Debut In A Stunning White Dress, Calls Her Outfit ‘Proudly Made In India’

Alia Bhatt made her much-talked about Met Gala debut in the 2023 edition and enthralled everyone as she walked the red carpet in a dreamy white dress adorned with pearls. Keeping in sync with the year’s theme ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. She wore a white outfit along with fingerless gloves in Karl’s honour. Certainly, the actress had a princess moment at the red carpet as she waved to the photographers, and even posed with designer Prabal Gurung.

Alia shared photos from her Met Gala debut on social media too and wrote, “A girl can never have too many pearls… and the right accessories to complement the look which in our case translated to the bow of pearls on my hair. Oh, and it’s white, for my Choup-ED.”

Alia further revealed that she “wanted to do something that felt authentic” and “proudly made in India.” Her caption further mentioned, “The embroidery, made with 100,000 pearls is a labour of love by @prabalgurung. I’m so proud to wear you for my first Met.”

On Saturday, Alia left for New York from the Mumbai airport, and on Monday, she became part of the biggest fashion nights of the year. Nonetheless, the actress had a remarkable 2022, with films such as ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and ‘Darlings’ to her accolades. On a personal front, she tied the knot with Ranbir Kapoor and they welcomed their daughter Raha in November. Alia will soon make her international debut with Netflix’s ‘Heart of Stone’, with Gal Gaddot and Jamie Dornan.

The theme of Met Gala this year was “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”, with an aim to celebrate the life and work of celebrated designer Karl Lagerfeld. The dress code was “in honor of Karl.” The Met Gala is held on the first Monday of May for the who’s who of the fashion and entertainment industries marking their presence.
