Kareena Kapoor Shares Pune Police's Covid-19 Campaign Based On Raj Kapoor's 'Mera Naam Joker'

Kareena Kapoor Khan was delighted by the Pune Police's Covid-19 awareness campaign. The video showed an officer singing Raj Kapoor's popular song "Aye Bhai Zara Dekh Ke Chalo," but with distorted lyrics. 

The actress congratulated the Pune city police and commented, "Brilliant video!" as she shared the video on Instagram. The 1970 film 'Mera Naam Joker' stars Raj Kapoor, Simi Garewal, and Rishi Kapoor in major roles.

Kapoor posted the video on a day when Maharashtra reported 41,327 new Covid-19 cases in the previous 24 hours, according to the state health department, according to news agency ANI. The state also reported eight additional instances of Omicron variety of Covid-19, bringing the total number of Omicron cases in the state to 1,738.

Raj Kapoor's 'Mera Naam Joker,' released in 1970, is a drama directed, edited, and produced by Raj Kapoor under his banner RK Films. The film was written by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas. The film features Raj Kapoor, Simi Garewal, Rishi Kapoor, Kseniya Ryabinkina, Padmini. The movie also starred Manoj Kumar, Dharmendra, Dara Singh, and Rajendra Kumar.

On the professional front, Kareena Kapoor is preparing for the premiere of 'Laal Singh Chaddha,' in which she co-stars with Aamir Khan. The film is a remake of 'Forrest Gump,' starring Tom Hanks (1994). The film, directed by Advait Chandan, also stars Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh.

Kareena Kapoor Khan launched her production house last year, and for her first movie, the actress is teaming up with Ekta Kapoor and Hansal Mehta.“Very honoured and excited to work as a producer on this film with Ekta whom my family has known for years and of course to be directed by Hansal for the first time. I am a huge fan of Hansal's films and to be working with him for the first time will be special. There are a lot of firsts on this film and I cannot wait to begin this journey," the actress had shared in a statement. Her first venture will be a thriller film inspired from a real-life incident.
