Kangana Ranaut Announces New Release Date Of 'Emergency'; To Clash With Kartik Aaryan's 'Chandu Champion' In June

After multiple delays, Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Emergency' has finally got a new release date. The movie will arrive in theatres on June 14, 2024. On January 23, Kangana took to her Instagram handle to announce 'Emergency' release date with a new poster. The poster features Kangana as former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. Well, the film will lock horns with Kartik Aaryan starrer 'Chandu Champion' at the box office. 

A day after attending the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya, on Tuesday, Kangana shared the new poster of her upcoming film and wrote, “Unlock the story behind India’s darkest hour. Announcing Emergency on 14th June 2024. Witness history come alive as the most feared and fiercest Prime Minister. Indira Gandhi thunders into cinemas. Emergency in cinemas on 14th June 2024 (sic)”.

The tagline of the movie reads: "Standing at the core of this is one of the most sensational leaders of all time the first woman prime minister of India, Mrs Indira Gandhi''.

As per a report in PTI, Kangana said in a statement, "Emergency is my most ambitious project and second directorial post-Manikarnika, we have the best of Indian and international talent come together for this big budget, grand period drama."

For the unversed, the film was earlier set to release in theatres on November 24, 2023.

'Emergency' has been produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films. Apart from acting, Kangana has also directed the film. It also stars Anupam Kher, late Satish Kaushik, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, and Vishak Nair in key roles.

Talking about 'Chandu Champion', it marks Kartik Aaryan and Kabir Khan's first collaboration. The release date was announced last year. The film is based on a real-life story.
