Sameer Vidwans - 'Satya Prem Ki Katha'

While many know Sameer as an established Marathi film director, he made his Hindi Film debut with Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani lead 'Satya Prem Ki Katha'. The film not only was a commercial hit but garnered a lot of critical acclaim as well and instantly became an audience favourite. Because of its subject and the way it was showcased in the film, the film instantly found its connection with the audience.

Karan Boolani - 'Thank You For Coming'

The recently released film ‘Thank You For Coming’ directed by Karan Boolani explored a subject which we often don’t see in our movies. While on the surface the film was a fun, humorous take on female pleasure, at the core the movie touched upon various topics like patriarchy, fighting societal norms, relationships etc. 

Yashovardhan - 'Kathal'

Exploring sociocultural themes in the interiors of central India, Yashwardhan made his directorial debut with Netflix’s 'Kathal' starring Sanya Malhotra in the lead. The film was a social commentary and was appreciated well for its performances and its treatment of a satirical drama.

There is no doubt that Atlee has given some of the biggest blockbusters in the South but with 'Jawan', he made his big Hindi film debut as a director. The film was a humongous success at the box office and broke all possible records, becoming one of the biggest releases Indian cinema has seen.
