‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ was released in theatres in December last year. The film was unable to stand up to the success which its predecessor had achieved. The Jason Momoa starrer received mixed reviews. However, in a recent interview, Dolph Lundgren revealed that the film that is currently running in theatres is not the original cut that director James Wan had planned.

Dolph Lundgren, who plays the role of Nereus, revealed that ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ is receiving mixed reviews because the film is not the original cut that James Wan had planned to release. In a conversation with ComicBook.com, the actor who plays the role of Amber Heard’s father in the movie revealed a lot of startling details.

He said, “I just realized that it was some kind of corporate decision that they try to limit Amber Heard and then I'm playing with her dad and went along with it. I was just disappointed for the moviegoers, because I thought the original script was great and the original cut -- I saw a little bit of it, it was really good, so I didn't see any reason to start reshooting and reshaping the story, which obviously led to disappointment in the moviegoers and not just me."

The actor mentioned that he had a longer screen time in the original cut that James Wan had in mind. In the final cut, Dolph Lundgren’s screen time was trimmed down. He blamed corporate machinations and said that his reduced role was a direct result of the reduced screen time Amber Heard’s character had received.
