Born in Mumbai, the financial capital of India, young Jemimah Rodrigues has already achieved accolades and plaudits in cricket. The 23-year-old, however, was a hockey player in her schooling days and also represented Maharashtra in the U-17 category. (More Cricket News)

Her father, Ivan Rodrigues -- a junior coach in her school -- pushed Jemimah into cricket. And it was from here onwards that Jemimah's career really kicked off. At the age of 13, she made her debut in the U-19 Maharashtra cricket team. Before 18, she was already an international.

Outlook India has joined hands with Oriflame in highlighting the lesser-told stories of sporting triumph amid adversity, via the 'Pitching Glory' initiative. Jemimah is yet another star in a series of players who will feature in the initiative. You can watch the video below.

Jemimah Rodrigues made her international debut in 2018 and has established herself as one of the most reliable batters for the Indian women's cricket team.

She was part of India's gold medal-winning team at the Asian Games 2023 in women's cricket. Earlier this year, ahead of the inaugural Women's Premier League, Delhi Capitals doled out Rs 2.2 crore to rope in the talent from Mumbai.
