The Chicago Bulls and head coach Billy Donovan have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract extension despite the franchise making one play-off appearance in the last five seasons.
Chicago hired Donovan in September 2020 after he spent five campaigns as head coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Donovan led Oklahoma City to the post-season in all five seasons while posing a 243-157 record, but it has been a different story in Chicago.
The Bulls have gone 195-205 under Donovan, made the play-offs once and been eliminated in the NBA Play-In Tournament in each of the past three seasons.
Donovan, who coached the University of Florida to back-to-back NCAA Tournament championships in 2006 and 2007, had one year remaining on his contract with the Bulls.
