The scheduled French Ligue 1 2023-24 match between Olympique Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais (Lyon) at Stade Velodrome was called off Sunday after an attack on the visiting side's team bus. Lyon head coach Fabio Grosso and his assistant Raffaele Longo were “seriously injured” in the attack from fans throwing projectiles. Six visiting supporter coaches were also targeted before the game, which had been due to kick off at 20:45 local time. Thousands of fans were already inside the ground when the announcement was made that the game had been postponed.
