Adi Hutter's side remained in third place in Ligue 1 and closed the gap on leaders Paris Saint-Germain, who do not play until Sunday, to nine points.

Nantes had won just one of their last 13 league games, but they took the lead in the 12th minute with Sorba Thomas setting up Matthis Abline.

Thomas was the provider again as the hosts doubled their advantage within two minutes of the restart, with Kelvin Amain profiting on this occasion.

However, Monaco halved the deficit five minutes later through Breel Embolo, while Mohammed Salisu headed in a 59th-minute equaliser from Lamine Camara's corner.

Both sides went close to snatching a winning goal. Embolo saw a shot cleared off the line, while Moses Simon struck the woodwork at the other end as the spoils were shared.

Data Debrief: Monaco saved by the woodwork again

Abline broke the scoring with his 12th goal in 42 games for Nantes across all competitions since his debut in September 2023; that is at least two times more than any other Nantes player in this period.

Amian doubled the lead with only his second Ligue 1 goal, and first since netting for Toulouse against Metz in March 2018.

Embolo started Monaco's revival with his third goal in his last four Ligue 1 games, as many as in his previous 27 top-flight encounters.

The visitors had the woodwork to thank for saving them later on, though. They have seen their opponents hit the woodwork eight times in 2024-25, with only Nice saved by it on more occasions in Ligue 1.
