Chahal, the most successful bowler in the history of IPL, missed the last game of his team as well where PBKS went down to Delhi Capitals. Reports suggest the leg-spinner has suffered a finger injury and is currently recovering from it. He is expected to gain full fitness ahead of the play-offs where PBKS have reached for the first time since 2014.
The wrist spinner has taken 14 wickets in 12 games at an average of 25.28 and economy rate of 9.56 this season.
The match against MI is highly crucial for PBKS as the winner of the game will be confirmed a top two finish while the loser will end up outside the critical top two spots.
Earlier, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and asked Hardik Pandya's MI to bat first.
MI posted a formidable 184/7 in 20 overs with Suryakumar Yadav scoring another fifty. The Indian T20I captain also became the first player in T20s to score 25-plus for 14 consecutive innings. For PBKS, Arshdeep Singh did a brilliant job with two wickets for 25 runs which included a three-run final over.
