Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is in 'positive discussions' with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding the scheduled tour of India to Bangladesh which is supposed to take place in August. India and Bangladesh are scheduled to clash in three ODIs and as many T20Is from August 17 but the future of this series is currently uncertain. BCB president Aminul Islam, however, remains positive.

"We're having positive discussions with the BCCI," Aminul told the media following the 19th board meeting held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Monday (June 30), as reported by Cricbuzz.

Islam also said that BCCI is awaiting government clearance and if the series can not go ahead in August and September, it is being discussed if it can be rescheduled for later.

"It's not like (hosting India) in August or September, we are having discussions how we can do the series and if we cannot host it now we will do it at another possible time. They (BCCI) are waiting for some government clearance," he added.

However, the political and security situation in Bangladesh remains tense and that makes the possibility of India touring the country highly unlikely.

India and Bangladesh last went head to head in Champions Trophy in February where the Men In Blue scored an easy win over the Bangla Tigers.
