Batting first, KL Rahul anchored the innings with a brilliant 77 off 51 balls, hitting six fours and three sixes.

Tristan Stubbs contributed with an unbeaten 24 off 12 balls, while Matheesha Pathirana’s superb final over helped restrict DC from reaching a higher total. DC finished with 183/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Chennai Super Kings were restricted to 158/5, falling short of the target. Vijay Shankar top-scored with a resilient 69 off 54 balls, while MS Dhoni remained not out on 30 from 26 balls.
CSK’s chase was marred by early wickets, losing three in the powerplay, leaving the rest of the batting to play catch-up. Mitchell Starc and Mukesh Kumar were the standout bowlers, claiming early wickets and keeping the pressure on the CSK batters.
The early breakthroughs from Starc and Kumar set the tone for DC. Starc dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad cheaply, while Kumar sent Rachin Ravindra back with a well-directed delivery.
The in-form Khaleel Ahmed also chipped in with a key wicket of opener Jake Fraser-McGurk. Vipraj Nigam’s leg-spin was crucial in the middle overs, as he removed Devon Conway, leaving CSK reeling at 41/3 in the sixth over.
Rahul, who had anchored DC's innings, remained the backbone of their batting, striking crucial boundaries and bringing up his 38th IPL fifty. Alongside Sameer Rizvi (20 off 15 balls), they added 56 runs for the fourth wicket, propelling DC to a competitive total.
Rahul's performance earned him the Player of the Match award. CSK’s chase was always behind the required rate, and despite some resistance from Vijay Shankar and MS Dhoni, they never really threatened, handing DC a comfortable 25-run win.
