Why Are Union Ministers Thanking Rahul Gandhi For His Ladakh Trip?

The Union Ministers thanked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for taking a trip to Ladakh and sharing photos of the roads in the Union Territory on social media. Rahul Gandhi on Sunday paid tributes to his father, Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary during his Ladakh trip.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday shared photos of his bike ride to the Pangong Lake as part of his ongoing Ladakh trip which was followed by praises by the Union Ministers as they thanked Gandhi for sharing glimpses of the roads in Ladakh.

The Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju and Pralhad Joshi took to X to express their praises for Gandhi and his bike ride to Pangong Lake. The posts have videos comparing the condition of roads before and the current condition so the praises were actually directed towards the developmental work of the ruling party and they thanked Gandhi for promoting the tourism in the Valley.

Rijiju tweeted saying, "Thanks to Rahul Gandhi for promoting excellent roads of Ladakh built by the Narendra Modi govt. Earlier, he also showcased how Tourism is booming in Kashmir Valley & reminded all that our "National Flag" can be peacefully hoisted at Lal Chowk in Srinagar now!" 

Rijiju also claimed that Rahul showed the growth of tourism in Kashmir Valley, and urged everyone to remember how there is now an easy hoisting of the national flag at Chowk Srinagar.

In addition, Parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi posted similar comparison videos and said that he was 'delighted' to see Gandhi's road trip pictures, he wrote, "To witness and spread the word about post-Article 370 developments in Leh and Ladakh, Shri Rahul Gandhi himself has taken a trip to the valley. We are elated and delighted to watch glimpses of his road trip."

Since the bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir state into two Union Territories following the abrogation of Article 370, this is Gandhi's first visit to Ladakh. 

The Kargil hill council polls are scheduled for September 10 and the Congress and National Conference made an alliance against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the polls.

Rahul Gandhi pays tribute to Rajiv Gandhi

On the banks of Pangong Lake Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was seen paying tribute to his father and former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary.

Rahul Gandhi wrote on X, “Dad, the dreams you had for India shimmer through these priceless memories in your eyes. In your footsteps lies my path - I understand the struggles and dreams of every Indian, I am listening to the voice of Mother India.”

According to ANI, the president of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee,  Vikar Rasool Wani said, “Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed his life for the country. We have gathered here to remember him."
