On June 2, the Coromandel Express rammed into a stationary goods train and the Bengaluru-Howrah Express at Balasore in Odisha. Official figures put the death toll at 288. More than a thousand are injured. The Railway Minister has called it sabotage. A CBI enquiry has been ordered. Can a tragedy be moulded like this?

Far away from Odisha, the wrestlers' protest gains momentum in Delhi and the northwestern states of India. Olympic, Asian, and Commonwealth medallists Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat, and Sangeeta Phogat continue to battle the gender, caste, and community politics entangled with the demand for justice; to arrest WFI chief Brih Bhushan Sharan Singh, who has been accused of sexual harassment.
