In a distressing incident that unfolded in Kakoshi village of Gujarat's Patan district, a Dalit man fell victim to a brutal assault, resulting in the amputation of his thumb. According to authorities, the assault was allegedly triggered when the victim's nephew innocently picked up a cricket ball during a match at a local school playground on Sunday.

An official reported that the accused individuals grew furious and subjected the young boy to threats and intimidation for his actions. Furthermore, they resorted to hurling casteist slurs, intending to insult and intimidate the Dalit community members present at the scene.

The situation temporarily deescalated after the boy's uncle, identified as Dhiraj Parmar, raised objections and attempted to resolve the matter. However, later that evening, a group of seven armed men, believed to be associated with the initial altercation, launched a horrifying attack on Dhiraj and his brother Kirti.

Law enforcement agencies are actively pursuing the apprehension of the accused individuals involved in the gruesome attack.

As the news of this shocking incident spreads, it has sparked widespread condemnation and renewed discussions about caste-based violence and discrimination within society. Authorities remain dedicated to ensuring justice for the victims and bringing the perpetrators to face the full force of the law.
