Narendra Modi was welcomed in Australia with a grand gesture from the Indian-origin residents of the continent. Reportedly 170 of them took a chartered flight from Melbourne to reach Sydney for welcoming the India Prime Minister.
The Indian Australian Diaspora Foundation had set up this arrangement to greet Narendra Modi at the Sydney Airport. The participants can be seen donned in tri-colour performing a dance and holding the Indian National flag at the airport.
According to reports, Dr Amit Sarwal, co-founder of IADF, said, "a lot of people are waiting outside the event venue also, where they will be cheering for PM Modi."

It is reported that the supporters were calling themselves 'Modi Airways'.
Another video from the Sydney airport showed that a 91-year-old woman named Dr Navamani Chandrabose from Tamil Nadu has gone to Sydney to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During the visit, the Prime Ministers will attend a community event in Sydney to celebrate Australia's dynamic and diverse Indian diaspora, "a core part of our multicultural community", the Australian government said in a statement.
Modi arrived here from Papua New Guinea, where he held talks with his counterpart James Marape and took stock of their bilateral relations. He also discussed ways to further augment cooperation in areas like commerce, technology, healthcare and climate change.

The two leaders co-hosted the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) summit on Monday, fostering regional cooperation.
