Though Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan never spoke about their fallout directly in public, it is known to all. We all know that Karan Johar collaborated with Kartik Aaryan on 'Dostana 2', but the film was shelved due to “various reasons'' as told by KJo.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, the filmmaker revealed that he would like to collaborate with the actor in the future.
Karan said that they were supposed to collaborate on a film, but due to different reasons, it didn't happen. “Kartik and I nearly made a film and then for various reasons it couldn't happen,'' said Karan.
When he was asked about the possibility of 'Dostana 2', the 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' director said, “We don't know about Dostana but we'll make something, and that film will hopefully be defining for both of us.” Expressing hope for future collaboration with Kartik, he further said, “I just hope we can collaborate very soon and on a film that we're both equally excited about.”
For the unversed, Kartik was signed as one of the leads in 'Dostana 2' opposite Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya. But Kartik was dropped. Later, Dharma Productions issued a statement claiming that with due respect to everyone's privacy, the film was shelved and would be recast and reshot later.
Kartik and Karan have remained cordial and this year, they even posed together at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. Karan was even all praise for the 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' actor. He said, "Kartik's films have deeply resonated with the country and have always brought in so much fervour back to the cinema halls. More power to him. May his contribution to cinema always continue. Well done, Kartik''.
On the work front, Kartik will be seen in Kabir Khan's sports drama 'Chandu Champion'.
