Sargam Vaish accused The Vvan makers of using part of his unreleased song in the trailer without permission.
He identified the track as Aigiri Nandini and said it was used for 25 seconds.

The Vyaan, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, is slated for theatrical release on September 25. Ahead of its release, the film has landed in a plagiarism row. Independent artist Sargam Vaish has accused the makers of using part of his song in the film’s trailer without permission. Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and TVF have backed the project.
Vvan plagiarism controversy
Vaish posted the allegation on Instagram on Sunday and identified the track as Aigiri Nandini.
Vaish has alleged that a section of his song was used in the trailer without approval and named the film’s lead cast and makers in his statement. He described it as his master recording and vocals. He has also warned of legal action if the trailer and film do not remove the song.
“I have been working on a project for three years, and one song from that has been used in the film Vvan’s trailer that was recently released, without my permission. The Vvan stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia and is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, produced by Balaji Telefilms and TVF. They have used my song for 25 seconds without my permission (sic).”
He also specified the portion he says was lifted and what, in his view, had been copied. “From 1 minute 8 seconds to 1 minute 33 seconds, the song’s name is Aigiri Nandini. They have used my master file, production, and vocals as is. I have signed a deal with a big label; if that is affected, they will be responsible for this. Kindly remove the song from your trailer and the movie; otherwise, my legal team will take care of it (sic).”
The allegation drew questions online. CBFC member Ricky Kej commented on Vaish’s video and asked, “How did they get access to your master recording when you had not released it yet?”
Vaish replied, “The song was already given to another big movie and was still unreleased. Somehow, it reached this movie through another circle and was used before the original project. That’s exactly what I’m trying to understand as well.”
The makers have not responded to his allegations yet.
This is the month’s second plagiarism row. Before this, artist Rapperiya Balam accused the makers of Mirzapur of using his independent track Shoorveer in the film without permission.
Balam then sent a legal notice to Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani and demanded that the song be removed and sought an unconditional apology.
