Bobby Deol has made a comeback in cinemas with 'Animal' and how! His performance in the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial made heads turn. The film has earned mixed reviews from critics and audiences ever since its release on December 1. Post the release, the 'Aashram' actor expressed his gratitude for the support and love he received for his role in the film.

Now in a recent interview with NDTV, his brother Sunny Deol, while calling the film "nice," also thanked audiences for showering love on Bobby Deol. He said it was long overdue, and he's glad that it finally happened.

He went on to reveal that after many years of not doing well, it was 'Aashram' that got Bobby the recognition which was long overdue. Sunny said, "I'm so, so happy for him. It's high time it happened. I can say now, people were not fair to him. I can’t talk about myself, but I can talk about him. They’ll call him a ‘sweet boy’, but nobody is doing anything. They know his capacity, they know his persona, but nobody let it happen."

Sunny said that the Deols, who have given only blockbusters this year, don’t believe in taking shortcuts. “The journey is the beauty,” he said, as he spoke more about Bobby’s comeback. “It was overdue. He became successful with 'Aashram.' That went to the grassroot level, it was the most-watched thing in the country,” he said, while admitting that he hasn’t watched the show, solely because he ‘can’t see Bobby playing such roles’.

Moving onto 'Animal,' he revealed that he got emotional and left the cinema hall as the movie was reaching its climax. He said, “People are loving it. I’ll have my bits and pieces about any film, even my own films. That’s me, it ain’t gonna change. But I’m not going to talk about it… When I was seeing Bobby being killed, I just got out of the seat and I couldn’t take it. I just wanted to go out and do something.”

Not only Sunny, but their mother Prakash Kaur, had also cried when his character dies in the movie. Bobby Deol, in a previous interview, even revealed that she clearly told her sons never to do such roles again.

'Animal' which has nearly made Rs 900 crores worldwide, has been called out for glorifying toxic masculinity, misogyny, and intense violence.
