Amazon MGM Studios India has unveiled the first-look poster of Anurag Kashyap's upcoming film, Nishaanchi. The gritty crime drama has been backed by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under the banner of Jar Pictures, in association with Flip Films, with screenplay written by Prasoon Mishra, Ranjan Chandel, and Kashyap.

The movie marks acting debut of Aaishvary Thackeray, who will be seen in a double role. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Kumud Mishra, Vedika Pinto, and Monika Panwar are playing pivotal roles in the upcoming project.

Nishaanchi is set for theatrical release in India on September 19, 2025.

"Poster chapwa diye hai, ab lagne waale hai ✨#Nishaanchi coming to theatres near you on September 19 (sic)," Amazon MGM Studios India captioned the poster.

The striking poster features Aaishvary in a powerful double role. He will star as twin brothers.

The film revolves around two brothers who follow different paths, and how their choices in life, shape their destinies. It's about brotherhood and betrayal.

Earlier, Anurag revealed writing Nishaanchi in 2016 and since then, he has been "looking to make the film the way it should be, and was looking for a studio who trusted me to do that, whole heartedly."

He said Nishaanchi is a "story full of raw human emotions, love, lust, power, crime and punishment, betrayal, redemption and the consequences of it all."

The Gangs of Wasseypur director feels fortunate to find "good people, superb actors and beautiful crew to tell this story in the best possible way".

The filmmaker also said that working with Amazon MGM Studios was an "immensely rewarding and beautiful experience" that reminded him of his "early days of filmmaking."

"We’re excited, nervous, and can’t wait to share the film with the audience to experience when it releases in theatres this September," he added.

Nishaanchi marks Anurag's comeback as a director after his 2023 film Kennedy, which received critical acclaim.
