Starring Tiger Shroff, Kriti Sanon, and Amitabh Bachchan 'Ganapath: A Hero Is Born' released in theatres on October 20. Given the buzz and the promotions, the film failed to live up to the expectations of the critics and audience. It has been criticised for poor performances, bad screenplay, VFX and direction. It is Tiger Shroff's lowest opener at the box office. The movie is helmed by Vikas Bahl.
'Ganapath' opened with poor numbers on day 1 and even on the first weekend it failed to pull the audience to the theatres. On day 3, on Sunday, the action drama struggled at the ticket windows.
As per Sacnilk.com, on day 3, the film earned Rs 2.25 crore (as per early estimates). So, the three-day net total stands at Rs 7 crore for the opening weekend.
Will the Dusshera holiday that is on October 24 be able to pull the crowd to theatres? Well, the chances are scanty.
Reportedly, 'Ganapath' is made on a whopping budget of Rs 200 crore. Going by the performance, it's doubtful the actioner will be able to recover its budget.
'Ganapath' is Tiger and Kriti's second film together after their debut 'Heropanti' in 2014 which was a blockbuster.
