Yuki Bhambri and Xinyu Jiang will face the mixed doubles pair of Marcelo Arevalo and Shuai Zhang in the second round of Wimbledon 2025 at the All England Club on Sunday, 6 July 2025. Bhambri, the sole Indian representative in the mixed doubles draw at SW19, will look to replicate his form in the men’s doubles section and secure qualification to the next stage.
The Indo-Chinese pair of Bhambri and Jiang made a gritty comeback in their opener against the American duo of Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Christian Harrison. Despite going 3-0 down in the first and second sets, Bhamabri and Jiang fought back masterfully to win the match 6-3, 1-6, 7(10)-6(6).
However, they will face seasoned opponents in the form of Arevalo and Zhang. The Salvadoran and Chinese duo have enjoyed a successful mixed doubles campaign in the French Open 2025, going to the semi-finals before their straight-set defeat to Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori.
The pair played their first match together in the US Open 2024, losing their opening game against Joran Vliegen and Cristina Busca. However, after their Roland-Garros campaign, the pair won their Wimbledon opener against Andre Groansson and Hao-Ching Chan, securing a 6-4, 6-1 victory.
