- The first century by a batter in the India vs Australia title clash would be the 40th century in the 2023 edition. The Cricket World Cup 2023 would earn the distinction of becoming the first edition in history to witness 40 centuries.

- Virat Kohli has an aggregate of 711 runs in this edition. 39 runs more, and he will become the first batter to aggregate 750 or more runs in a single edition of the World Cup.

- The Cricket World Cup finals have witnessed six centuries so far. Of these, one Australian and one Sri Lankan have scored a century each against India, while Indian batters are yet to score a century in a World Cup final.

- Mohammad Shami of India and Adam Zampa of Australia have captured 23 and 22 wickets, respectively, in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. They can become the third and fourth bowlers to capture 25 or more wickets in an edition of the World Cup. Others are – Aussies Mitchell Starc (27 in 2019) and Glenn McGrath (26 in 2007)

- If Mohammad Shami and Adam Zampa reach 25 wickets each, the 2023 World Cup will become the first edition in the history of the tournament to witness two bowlers capturing 25 or more wickets.

- India's left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja has captured 27 wickets in the World Cup. Three more wickets, and he will become the fourth left-arm spinner to take 30 or more wickets in the World Cup. Others are – Shakib Al Hasan (43) of Bangladesh, Daniel Vettori (36) of New Zealand and Brad Hogg (34) of Australia.

- Ravindra Jadeja has captured 27 wickets as a spinner in the World Cup. Three more wickets would fetch him 30 wickets and with it he would become the ninth spinner to capture 30 plus wickets in the World Cup. He will consequently become the sixth Indian bowler to capture 30 or more wickets in the World Cup.

- Adam Zampa has captured 27 wickets in the World Cup. Three more, and he will become the seventh Australian bowler to capture 30 or more wickets in the World Cup.

- Jadeja and Zampa can become the 35th and 36th bowlers to capture 30 or more wickets in the World Cup (depending on who takes 30 wickets first).

- David Warner has an aggregate of 1470 runs as an opening batter in the World Cup. 30 more runs, and he will become the second opener to aggregate 1500 or more runs.

- Virat Kohli has an aggregate of 1741 runs in the World Cup. Three more, and he will displace Ricky Ponting (1743) as the second-highest scorer in the World Cup. Sachin Tendulkar (2278) leads the chart.

- Indian fielders, other than wicketkeepers, have taken 296 catches in the World Cup. Four more, and India will become the third team in the World Cup to have taken 300 or more catches by fielders. Australia (338) and New Zealand (328) are the other two teams to have 300-plus catches through their fielders other than the wicketkeepers.

- Virat Kohli has taken 19 catches in the World Cup. One more, and he will become the third fielder other than the wicketkeepers to pouch 20 or more catches in the World Cup. Others are – Ricky Ponting (28) and Joe Root (25).

- David Warner has taken 17 catches in the World Cup. Three more, he will become the fourth fielder other than the wicketkeepers to pouch 20 or more catches in the World Cup (subject to V Kohli taking his 20th catch in the IND vs AUS final).
