India beat South Africa in the third T20 International between the two sides in the former's ongoing tour of the country, tying the series 1-1. South Africa had taken the lead through a comfortable win in the previous match in Gqeberha, which served as the de-facto series opener after the originally scheduled first game in Durban was washed out by rain. Yet, as India celebrated winning the last match of the round, there was apprehension among the fans after captain Suryakumar Yadav had earlier limped off with an injury. (Cricket News)

Suryakumar was key to India's win over South Africa, the batter playing a captain's knock with a 55-ball century to see his team cross the 200-run mark. However, he had later twisted his ankle in the field and would spend much of the second innings outside the peripheries.

Post-match, the Indian skipper provided an update on the situation while also praising Kuldeep Yadav for his five-wicket-haul that was crucial to India limiting their opponents to a low total.

"I am good. I am walking, so good. Always a good feeling. When it comes in a winning cause, it makes me happier," Suryakumar said.

"We wanted to play some fearless brand of cricket. The idea was to bat first, put some runs on the board and defend. The boys work day in and day out. Happy that they showed some character. He (Kuldeep) is never happy. He is always hungry. It is a nice self-gift on his birthday. I mean it is important to know your game. I just go out there and enjoy myself. The balance is important."
