Punjab Kings (PBKS) are set to host Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 69 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on 26 May, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Despite both teams securing their qualification to the playoffs, a place in the top-two spot is on the line ahead of Monday’s game. (Preview | Scorecard)

PBKS are currently in second place with 17 points, suffering a big setback in their top-two aspirations after a six-wicket loss against Delhi Capitals on 24 May. The team failed to defend a 206-run total, with Yuzvendra Chahal missing the fixture due to a “small niggle”.

As per a report by ESPNcricinfo, the bowler will also sit out today’s game against MI due to the same injury, and Punjab management will be sweating his availability ahead of the playoff fixtures.

Meanwhile, MI sit in fourth place with 16 points, but have the best net run rate in the entire league. Hardik Pandya’s side defeated DC in their last match, spearheaded by their bowling attack of Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult. The latter has been a standout player, taking 19 wickets this year.
