Former India captain and one of the most popular faces in cricket world, MS Dhoni on Monday was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame. Matthew Hayden, Daniel Vettori, Hashim Amla, Graeme Smith, Sana Mir, and Sarah Taylor were the other six cricketers who were also inducted into the prestigious Hall of Fame on Monday.

The only captain to win all three ICC white ball trophies, Dhoni said he will cherish this achievement forever.

"It is an honour to be named in the ICC Hall of Fame, which recognises the contributions of cricketers across generations and from all over the world. To have your name remembered alongside such all-time greats is a wonderful feeling. It is something that I will cherish forever."

Dhoni announced his international retirement in August 2020, a year after his last appearance for India in the 2019 World Cup semifinal loss to New Zealand.

With the inclusion of Dhoni and six other greats, the ICC Hall of Fame is now 115-member strong.

MS Dhoni Career Stats

Dhoni is regarded as one of the best ODI players in the history of the game. In 350 ODIs, he amassed 10773 runs at an average of 50.57. His captaincy credentials include the 2011 World Cup triumph and the 2013 Champions Trophy win.

Dhoni played 98 T20Is and scored 1617 runs but his career's defining moment in the format remains the 2007 T20 World Cup victory.

In 90 Tests, Dhoni scored 4876 runs at an average of 38.09, with six centuries including a stunning double hundred against Australia in 2013 in Chennai.
