Prime Minister Narendra Modi Congratulates Siddaramaiah And Shivakumar On Their New Roles

This appointment follows the Congress party's recent victory in the Assembly elections, where they secured 135 out of 224 seats, marking a significant political transition in Karnataka.

Congress leaders Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar were sworn in as Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, respectively, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to them.

In a tweet, Prime Minister Modi congratulated Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar on their new positions and wished them a successful tenure. Along with the two leaders, eight MLAs were also sworn in as Ministers.

Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who Siddaramaiah succeeded, also congratulated his successor on assuming the office of Chief Minister. In a tweet, Bommai extended his heartfelt congratulations to Siddaramaiah and his cabinet members.

The appointment of Siddaramaiah as Chief Minister came exactly a week after the Congress party emerged victorious in the Assembly elections, securing 135 out of 224 seats in the House.
