In a stark display of insensitivity, the BJP faced sharp criticism from various quarters, including several prominent parties within the Indian political landscape, for hosting extravagant celebrations in the aftermath of the G20 Summit success. This celebration occurred on a day marred by tragedy, as security personnel lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Congress, a leading opposition party, did not mince words in denouncing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP for their apparent disregard for the gravity of the situation. They labeled the Prime Minister as "insensitive" and juxtaposed images of grieving family members of the fallen soldiers with the grand reception he received at the BJP headquarters following India's successful hosting of the G20 Summit.

Pawan Khera, the head of the Congress media and publicity department, expressed his disbelief in a poignant Hindi post, highlighting the contradiction between celebrating success and mourning the loss of brave soldiers. He remarked, "No matter what happens, the Prime Minister cannot postpone receiving accolades," in a pointed critique.

Supriya Shrinate, a spokesperson for the Congress, lamented the heart-wrenching scenes of the martyred soldiers' young children and condemned the BJP's continued festivities. She drew a painful parallel with a past tragedy, recalling the Pulwama attack, when the BJP claimed they were unaware until later, in contrast to the current situation where they were fully aware from the morning.

Shiv Sena's Priyanka Chaturvedi echoed the call for sensitivity, expressing disappointment that the celebration couldn't have been postponed, particularly on a day when security forces had fought valiantly in Kashmir.

Manoj Jha, a leader from the RJD, joined the chorus of criticism, noting the stark contrast between the sacrifices made by the soldiers and the jubilation at the BJP office. He highlighted the nation's collective observation of both these contrasting visuals, recalling the BJP's earlier claim of delayed knowledge during the Pulwama attack and the stark contrast with their awareness this time.
