Congress President and leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge writes to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding Parliament logjam over the Manipur issue.

Mallikarjun Kharge took to Twitter to share his letter and wrote in Hindi, "In a single day, the respected Prime Minister connects the opposition parties of the country with the British rulers and the terrorist group and on the same day the Home Minister writes an emotional letter and expects a positive attitude from the opposition. The lack of coordination between the ruling party and the opposition was visible for years, now this gulf has started appearing even within the ruling party."

Kharge continued to say, "It is not only absurd but also unfortunate for the Prime Minister to call the opposition parties directionless on this."

He lastly added, "We have been urging the Prime Minister to come to the House and give a statement on Manipur, but it seems that doing so is hurting his honour. We have a commitment to the people of this country and will pay any cost for it."

Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 12 noon

The Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned until 12 noon on Wednesday due to the opposition members and treasury benches chanting slogans.

Leader of Opposition (LoP) Mallikarjun Kharge said he was "insulted" on Tuesday in the House as his mic was switched off while he speaking after getting permission to do so from the Chair, which led to an uproar in the House by the opposition members.

Countering the slogans by the opposition, treasury bench members also started shouting 'Modi, Modi', leading to a din in the House.

Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar appealed to both Kharge and Leader of the House Piyush Goyal to help restore order in the House.

However, the sloganeering continued and the proceedings were adjourned till 12 noon around 11:40 am.
