Congress Neglected Bastar While My Tribal Brothers, Sisters Lived Here For Ages, Claims PM Narendra Modi At Jagdalpur Rally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attending the rally in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh said that the Bastar region has been neglected by the Congress for decades even though they have been living in the region since the time of Lord Ram. PM Modi also iterated that the dream of a developed Bharat will be realised only when states, districts and villages develop.

He also said that in the last nine years, the Centre has raised its budgetary allocation for rail projects in Chhattisgarh by 20 times, compared to what was provided prior to 2014.

Regarding the inauguration of a steel plant in the state on Tuesday, PM Modi said, "People of Chhattisgarh Congress are not proud of the latest steel plant, inaugurated today. Neither the CM nor any minister of the state minister was there at the inauguration event. There are two reasons behind this - firstly, they don't have time because they are busy saving the government. Secondly, this is Modi. No corrupt can make an eye contact with Modi."

PM Modi on tribals of Chhattisgarh

"My tribal brothers and sisters wanted, which is why Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government formed Chhattisgarh," said PM Modi.

PM Modi said that the Congress neglected the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh for decades.

"In Chhattisgarh, development is visible either on posters and banners, or in the coffers of Congress leaders," claimed the prime minister.

"Congress is being run not by its leaders but by those who are in nexus with anti-national forces," claimed PM Modi. He further accused Congress of having a track record of looting the natural resources of Chhattisgarh.

PM Modi said that corruption and crime are at their peak in Chhattisgarh; the state is competing with Rajasthan on these two fronts. "The entire country is watching the condition of Chhattisgarh that the Congress has done in the last five years. Corruption is rampant all across the state. Chhattisgarh is among the leading states in terms of killings. It seems like Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan are competing with each other over more murders, loots and crime against women," added PM Modi

PM Modi laid foundation stones for developmental projects

PM Modi was speaking at an event at Jagdalpur in poll-bound Chhattisgarh, where he dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stones of different projects worth Rs 26,000 crore, including the NMDC's steel plant.

"The dream of a developed Bharat will be realised only when states, districts and villages in the country develop," he said. 

Speaking about the NMDC Steel Ltd steel plant at Nagarnar in Bastar district of the state, the prime minister said it would provide employment opportunities to 50,000 youths of Bastar and adjoining areas. 

On the occasion, PM Modi virtually flags off Tadoki (Kanker district)-Raipur DEMU train service.

"The BJP is conducting Akankshi Zila Karyakram (aspirational districts programme) in the country. Several districts of Bastar division are included in the aspirational districts,"
