    Recap

Dasun Shanaka won a good toss but Sri Lanka failed to break down a resolute-looking Indian opening pair with skipper Rohit Sharma (44 off 32) and Kishan (89 off 56) stitching a 111-run stand. In the process, Rohit overtook New Zealand's Martin Guptill (3299) to become the most prolific scorer in the format. Rohit has now 3307 runs. It was followed by two 44-run stands from Kishan and Shreyas Iyer (57 off 28 no out), and the latter with Ravindra Jadeja (3 off 4 not out). Bhuvneshwar Kumar started the defence with a lucky, first-ball wicket, then another one in the third over to rattle Sri Lanka. Venkatesh Iyer, now operating as a genuine all-rounder, got a couple even as Yuzvendra Chahal and Jadeja took a piece each. For the record, Chahal is now India's most successful bowler in T20Is, overtaking vice-captain Jasprit Burmah, who's one of the six changes India made from the third and final match against the West Indies. India have now won ten T20Is on the trot. They need two wins, probably during the series itself, to equal the record for most successive wins.
