A devastating fire engulfed a drug rehabilitation center in northern Iran, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 32 lives and leaving 16 individuals injured, according to Iranian media reports on Friday.
Preliminary findings from the investigation pointed to a heater in the opium rehabilitation facility located in Langarud, within the Caspian Sea province of Gilan, as the source of the fire. The flames swiftly spread throughout the center, as stated by the province's deputy governor, reported by the semi-official Fars news agency.
Efforts to uncover the exact cause of the incident are underway, with the manager and other potential individuals involved already under arrest, as reported by the Tasnim news site.
