More than 20,000 people, primarily civilians, have been killed in Gaza due to Israeli bombings since the onset of the war, as reported by local health authorities.
With aid delivery restricted and aid workers unable to move safely within the territory, half of Gaza’s roughly 2.2 million people are at risk of starvation, according to the United Nations.
The war continues and here’s how things stand on day 88:
1. The UN agency OCHA reported the first case of Palestinian property demolition in 2024, occurring in al-Maniya in Bethlehem. In 2023, 1,119 structures were demolished in the West Bank.
2. The Gaza health ministry released a list of 19 individuals, including children and those with severe illnesses like cancer, approved for medical evacuation from Gaza through the Rafah crossing with Egypt today.

3. Israel's National Security Adviser, Tzachi Hanegbi, declared that Israel will not boycott the International Court of Justice case initiated by South Africa. South Africa has opened a case against Israel at the UN's International Court of Justice (ICJ), accusing Israel of genocide.
4. On Monday, at least 21 people were killed and dozens injured due to bombardment in the Gaza Strip. The Magazhi refugee camp and Jabalia's Bir al-Naja area were heavily affected, with fifteen and six fatalities, respectively, as reported by the Palestinian news agency Wafa.
5. The Israeli military announced its decision on Monday to withdraw several thousand troops from the Gaza Strip temporarily. The military cited a growing toll on the Israeli economy after nearly three months of wartime mobilisation with little end in sight to the fighting.
