September 2022 was a watershed moment in the long history of Iranian women protesting against the regime’s clampdown on their rights and freedoms. Armed with hashtags and courage, these young women are out there dancing in the streets, chopping off their hair to resist the hijab law and chanting slogans against the leadership. Many have been killed and detained in the last few months. The #Mahsa_Amini hashtag has been retweeted more than 40 million times. The women-led revolution has echoes in our own status as women fighting patriarchy.
