Yash's upcoming action drama Toxic sold nearly 95K tickets on its first day of advance bookings across India.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is inching closer to gross ₹5 crore in pre-sales.
Karnataka is leading with the pre-sales, contributing ₹3 crore. Bengaluru is the biggest contributor.
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, starring Yash, is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26, 2026, after several delays. Advance bookings for the film have opened across India, indicating a strong start. It has sold over 90,000 tickets within hours of advance bookings opening. Karnataka is leading with the highest numbers.
Toxic advance booking report for Day 1
Early ticket sales are surging. The movie grossed ₹4.49 crore from 6,514 screenings without blocked seats, Sacnilk reported. With blocked seats, total pre-sales reached ₹9.67 crore. With five days left before the premiere, the film will likely secure more bookings.
Home state drives sales
Karnataka leads the ticket sales with ₹3.28 crore in bookings across 945 shows.
Bengaluru contributed ₹2.4 crore from 636 shows.
Other regional centres in Karnataka reflect strong interest beyond the capital. Tumakuru recorded 83% occupancy. Mysuru and Shivamogga both reached 66%, and Raichur stood at 69%.
Toxic's Hindi-dubbed version also opened well. It sold 30,385 tickets to generate ₹1.2 crore from 5,569 shows.
Other major territories are still slow to pick up. Market experts expect ticket sales to surge over the weekend as the release date approaches.
The film has generated positive buzz in the US, where advance bookings have already sold 7,545 tickets and crossed $163,150 from 709 shows across 260 locations.
Toxic ticket price
In Mumbai and Bengaluru, the ticket price for some shows is above ₹2,000. At Mumbai’s Jio World Drive, tickets for select premium screenings are reportedly priced at ₹2,250, while a premium show at Bengaluru’s Forum Rex Walk is priced at ₹2,181.
The average ticket price for the Kannada version currently stands at ₹404, while the Hindi version's average ticket price is ₹364.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic also stars Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth as the female leads.
