Latha Rajinikanth, wife of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, spoke up on a cheating case that was filed against her. The producer and singer recently got conditional bail in a case related to the 2014 Tamil film, ‘Kochadaiiyaan.’ She said that there is no fraudulence involved and that she is simply paying the price of being famous.

Latha Rajinikanth appeared before the Magistrate court in Bengaluru on Tuesday. Speaking to ANI, she said, “For me, it's a case of humiliation and harassment and exploitation of a popular person. This is the price we pay for being celebrities. So there may not be a big case, but the news becomes very big. There is no fraudulence...I have nothing to do with the money.”

Adding to her statement, Latha said that this was a case of “celebrity harassment, and nothing else.” She added, “Maybe they think that by exploiting us they can get something out of it.” She continued that the case is only filed by the complainant to gain “limelight, money, and satisfaction.”

In her statement, she also mentioned that the money had been settled long ago.

The court granted Latha Rajinikanth conditional bail on a personal bond of Rs 1,00,000 and cash surety of Rs 25,000. She was directed by the court to not influence the witnesses and tamper with the evidence. A cheating case was filed against her by Chennai-based Ad Bureau Advertising Pvt Ltd. They filed a case regarding the rights of ‘Kochadaiiyaan.’ They claimed that they lent Rs 10 crore to Media One and Latha had signed as the guarantor. They alleged that Latha failed to honour it after the Rajnikanth and Deepika Padukone starrer tanked at the box office.
