Meghan Markle is gearing for an acting comeback as she and Prince Harry move back to the U.K.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are making the long-term relocation alongside their children, Archie and Lilibet, while retaining their £11million Montecito estate and Portugal home. The couple will live in a non-royal residence outside of London.
News has surfaced that one of the reasons behind their decision to return was that Meghan had reportedly been offered a job in an upcoming project, according to Australian outlet news.com.au. No details of any role or project have been confirmed by the Sussexes.
"The big question around this return, we know what Harry's doing here - he has a lot of ties to the UK and a lot of patronages and of course, Invictus Games. But what was Megan going to do when she got to the UK?" News.com.au royal correspondent Bronte Coy said on Friday.
Meghan Markle To Make Acting Return
"Now we know she's returning to acting and of course as most people would know, that's where she started off. She built quite an impressive Hollywood career prior to dating Harry and she only stepped back from that and that role in Suits when she became a member of the Royal Family. "There's a role in the works - we don't know the details of it, it's been kept quite tightly wrapped but entertainment sources have told me that there is a role Megan's eyeing up and it looks like we're getting close to her signing onto," she added.
Meghan revealed she was quitting in 2017, just before her engagement to Prince Harry. Back in 2022, the Duchess was asked by Variety if she would ever be open to returning to acting. "No. I’m done," Meghan said at the time. "I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not."
She recently returned to acting for the first time in nearly a decade with a cameo as herself in the upcoming comedy Close Personal Friends. It also stars Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid and Henry Golding.
Meghan's most famous role was Rachel Zane in Suits, but she also starred in Hallmark movies and films Horrible Bosses and Remember Me.
