In a recent development of the Lee Sun-kyun death case, a woman, identified as ‘A,’ has been taken into police custody. The Metropolitan Investigation Unit of the Incheon Police Agency issued an arrest warrant for ‘A' on December 27, charging her with extortion and blackmail.

According to numerous news reports, the 28-year-old ‘A’ already had a pre-arrest warrant filed in her name, but she failed to be present before the court at the Incheon District Court. With no reason or justification for her absence from many legal proceedings, police initiated a search warrant and started to look for her. On the same day, soon after, she was arrested.

She is currently being held at the Nonyeon Police Station in Incheon, and awaiting examination.

As per many reports, the ‘Parasite’ actor was blackmailed by ‘A’ and a 29-year-old female manager ‘B.' The two of them collectively tried to extort 300 million KRW (Rs 1.9 crore) out of him. In the months leading up to today, the actor was allegedly asked to pay a grand total of 50 million KRW (Rs 32 lakh) to ‘A’ and 300 million KRW to ‘B.’ However, ongoing investigations seek to dig deep and uncover the extent of this truth.

For those unversed, the actor underwent three rounds of police investigation for his involvement in a case over illegal drug consumption. He denied charges in all of them. In an unfortunate instance, the actor was found dead in his vehicle at a park in Seoul. The cause of the death is yet to be determined.
