Farhan Akhtar Revisits 'Dil Chahta Hai' Shooting Location After 23 Years, Sparks Nostalgia Among Fans

Actor Farhan Akhtar took to Instagram to announce that he visited the Chapora Fort, where the iconic 'Dil Chahta Hai' pose was shot, after two decades.

Filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar has taken a trip down memory lane. He visited the location where his directorial debut 'Dil Chahta Hai' was shot - the Chapora Fort in Goa. This is the place where the iconic 'Dil Chahta Hai' pose was shot. He took to social media to announce the same. 

In his caption on Instagram, he has mentioned that it was the first time in over 23 years that he has gone there. In the photo he posted, Farhan sat on the wall, smiling cheek-to-cheek, looking at director Shujaat Saudagar, who rested against the wall, with the sun setting over the sea in the background. 

With 'Dil Chahta Hai' being one of the most-loved films of all time, fans couldn't contain their excitement. Reacting to the post, a fan wrote, "Bro wrote one story at the age of 24. Enough to be remembered for generations to come." Another one said, "The only takeaway from this is that Dil Chahta Hai came out 23 years ago and I'm not okay with that reality." One more commented, "This movie was so ahead of its time that after 23 years the vibe has not changed."

There were also many fans demanding for a Akash, Sid and Sameer reunion in a part 2 of the movie. 

The 2001 comedy-drama 'Dil Chahta Hai' has achieved cult status, featuring Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, and Preity Zinta. Famous for reshaping the ideas of of friendship, love, and relationships, this coming-of-age film garnered praise for its compelling story, acting, as well as, soundtrack. It was even honored with the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.

For his upcoming projects, the 'Dil Dhadakne Do' actor is set to return to directing with 'Jee Le Zara' and 'Don 3.'
