On January 10, Shah Rukh Khan was awarded with 'Indian of the Year' at CNN-News18's event. The actor, who has taken on the role of many heroic figures, has also played some villainous roles, adding diversity to his filmography. But he has not done that in a long time now.

During the event, he exclaimed that if he were to portray a negative character from now on, he would ensure that his story would have a miserable, brutal end. He elaborated, "I am a guy who is hopeful and tells happy stories. The heroes I play do good things, they give hope and happiness. If I play a bad guy, I make sure he suffers a lot, he dies a dog’s death, because I believe goodness begets goodness. And I believe badness deserves a kick in the back side.”

He further continued, “I should play honest roles that give people courage to dream. I should keep working hard quietly with the hope that life doesn’t topple my apple cart anytime soon.”

Now, according to many speculations that have risen due to this statement, it seems like the 'Pathaan' actor is belittling the highly criticized Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directorial 'Animal.' This film has torn apart box office collections but at the same time also received negative reactions from film critics as well as audiences for its glorification of toxic masculinity and intense misogyny.

While the film's cast has been thanking everyone for making the film as big as it is today, Vanga has been defending the film from all sorts of criticism ever since its release.

Now, whether Shah Rukh Khan has taken a dig at this massive blockbuster or not, can only be clarified by him.
