Actor Sunil Lahri who played Laxman in Ramanand Sagar’s 'Ramayan' has not been invited to the Ayodhya Ram temple inauguration that is going to be held on January 22, 2024. His 'Ramayan' co-stars Arun Govil and Dipika Chikhlia, who played Lord Ram and Sita, in the iconic show have received invitations to attend the event.

In an interview with Etimes, Sunil Lahri said that he was surprised but not upset. "Somebody has organized a function. It is not necessary that you should be invited. I would have gone if I had been invited. It would have felt nice if I had been invited. Would have got a chance to be a part of history. But it’s okay. There’s nothing to be upset about,'' he said.

Sunil added, "Maybe they think that Laxman’s character is not that important. Or they don’t like me personally. I was with Prem Sagar, but he was also not invited. I find it strange that they didn’t invite someone from the makers of Ramayan."

The actor also spoke about the plans of new 'Ramayan'. He said, "The untold story of Ramayan" is being planned. I had a meeting with Prem Sagar. We are planning Ramayan from the point of view of Kaal Mushandi. I think that the pressure from the public is so much that Ramayan might be telecast again."

Meanwhile, a report in Pinkvilla stated that Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Akshay Kumar, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rajkumar Hirani, Rohit Shetty among others will grace the grand event.
