Afghanistan won the first match of the series with a huge margin of 72 runs where the wicket-keeper batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored his maiden T20I century and captain Ibrahim Zadran also scored a crucial half-century. Afghanistan set a 204-run target for UAE and restricted them to 131 runs on four wickets after Vriitya Aravind's fighting 70-run knock.
UAE fought back in the next match and won the 2nd T20I match by 11 runs after openers Aryan Lakra (unbeaten 63 off 47 balls) and Muhammad Waseem (53 off 32 balls) scored fifties and helped UAE set a 167-run target for Afghanistan. The Afghans fell 12 runs short of the target and were bundled out for 155 runs.

In the third match of the series, both teams will fight to clinch the trophy. UAE have been performing well in the shortest format for a long time and the recent success is proof of that. Afghanistan are playing without their ace spinners Rashid Khan and Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman. Young captain Ibrahim Zadran will focus on hitting the right buttons in the final match on Tuesday.
