In a release issued by BCCI on Thursday, July 21, the apex body for cricket in India stated that Rishabh Pant is recovering quicker than expected in his rehabilitation programme at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. The release says that Pant has resumed keeping and batting in the nets.

"Mr Rishabh Pant: He has made significant progress in his rehabilitation and has commenced batting as well as keeping in the nets. He is currently following a fitness programme designed for him which includes strength, flexibility and running," read the press release.

Earlier, the promising wicket-keeper-batter posted a video on Instagram showcasing his deadlifts in the gym, indicating his speedy recovery. Posting the video, he wrote: “You get what you work for, not what you wish for”.

Pant met with a horrific car accident last year, which has pushed his career in limbo. He went under the knife to treat his injured knee. Since then he is undergoing rehab at the NCA.
