Ahmedabad and Mullanpur will be the venues for the Indian Premier League 2025 Play-offs, BCCI stated on Tuesday.
In another scheduling update, the match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and SunRisers Hyderabad has been shifted from Bengaluru to Lucknow.
The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has zeroed in on the venues for the play-offs which were originally scheduled to take place in Hyderabad in Kolkata.
However, due to both of those places being under rain threat, the decision to move the play-offs had to be taken.
Mullanpur will host Qualifier 1 on May 29 and the Eliminator the next day. Ahmedabad will host Qualifier 2 on June 1 and the Final on June 3.
Mullanpur is the home base of Punjab Kings while Ahmedabad hosts Gujarat Titans in the tournament. Both the teams have already booked their place in the top four.
RCB's game shifted
RCB, the other team that has booked a berth in top four, will have to move to Lucknow to play their next game against SRH. The weather in Bengaluru, where the clash was supposed to take place, has not been good with heavy rains lashing the city.
The shifting of RCB's penultimate league stage game will help the team as they were anyway supposed to travel to Lucknow for their last league stage match against the Super Giants.
RCB's last match against KKR in Bengaluru on May 17 was washed out without the toss and the decision to shift the game to Lucknow has been taken in view of similar weather events on the next match day.
Extra time added to IPL matches
In view of the onset of the rainy season, IPL has extended extra waiting period to 120 minutes from 60 minutes. Originally, the 120-minute waiting period only applied to play-offs but as monsoon clouds move over the country, it has been done for all the matches from May 20 onwards.
