Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot Accuses PM Modi Of Arrogance

In a bold move that adds fire to the political discourse, Rajasthan's Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot launched a scathing critique against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent declaration of returning to address the nation from the Red Fort on the next Independence Day. Gehlot's accusation of 'arrogance' was echoed during his press conference at the Congress headquarters, where he also revealed the party's ambitious 'Mission 156' for the upcoming Rajasthan assembly election.

'Mission 156' unveiled by the Congress aims to clinch 156 out of the 200 assembly seats in the state, and Gehlot asserted the people's unwavering commitment to achieving this goal. As Gehlot paid tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary, he emphasized, 'We are devoid of the ego and arrogance displayed by our counterparts. Unlike PM Modi's claims of returning to the Red Fort, we believe in action over words,' as reported by PTI.

Gehlot, known for his candid approach, lambasted the renaming of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library as the Prime Ministers' Museum and Library Society. He questioned the motives behind the name change, suggesting it's an attempt to erase the contributions of those who have played pivotal roles in shaping the nation's history. Gehlot boldly alleged, 'The ruling party is attempting to rewrite history and erase the sacrifices of our forebearers.'

The Chief Minister also addressed the contentious issue of electoral bonds, alleging a scandal that implicates the country's political landscape. 'An environment of fear surrounds traders and industrialists, stifling their voices,' Gehlot stated, pointing to the controversial practice of electoral bond donations. His candid commentary on these issues underscores the intensity of the upcoming political battle.

Gehlot's address was not without a swipe at Prime Minister Modi's efforts in Rajasthan. Despite multiple visits to the state, Gehlot remained steadfast that these efforts wouldn't sway the electorate's opinion. 'The people of Rajasthan have spoken, and their decision is irrevocable. No amount of visits can change that,' he affirmed.
