Rajasthan: 2 Medical Aspirants Die By Suicide In Kota; 9th Incident In Past Two Months

Five suicide cases of medical aspirants were reported in the month of May while four other are reported in June, this year. Considering the increasing frequency of such mishaps, the parents of the deceased students have raised their concerns over the reasons behind such extreme steps taken by their children.

In an untoward incident, two medical aspirants allegedly died by suicide in Rajasthan's Kota on Tuesday.

With the death of these two students, total nine suicides of medical aspirants have been reported in Kota in the past two months.

As per media reports, five cases were reported in the month of May and four reported in June, this year.

About Tuesday's incidents

On Tuesday, an 18-year-old medical aspirant from Udaipur, identified as Mehul Vaishnav, hanged himself in his hostel room.

No suicide note has been recovered from the spot. 

He was living in a hostel in the Vigyan Nagar area.

According to police,Mehul hailed from Salumbar in the Udaipur district and had been preparing for NEET at a coaching institute in Kota for the past two months.

As per media reports, Mehul was alone in his hostel room at the time of the incident as his roommate was away that night.

The caretaker of the hostel as informed by the other hostel mates as Mehul did not come out of his room even after hours had passed.

Mehul's body was found hanging in his room after the caretaker broke open the door.

The student's body was sent for postmortem.

Besides this, another similar incident has been reported on Tuesday where a medical aspirant identified as Aditya also died by suicide.

It has been reported that Aditya arrived in Kota nearly two months ago.
