In anticipation of the grand inauguration of the newly built Ram Mandir, the Indian Railways has announced plans to operate over 1,000 trains from various parts of the country to Ayodhya within the first 100 days.
The commencement of these trains is scheduled for January 19, just days ahead of the temple's consecration ceremony, facilitating pilgrims' journeys to and from the holy city.
The Ram Mandir will open its doors to the public on January 23, a day after the consecration of Lord Sri Ram's idol.
Sources reveal that these trains will establish connectivity between Ayodhya and various regions and cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Kolkata, Nagpur, Lucknow, and Jammu.

According to TOI, the deployment of these trains can be adjusted based on demand. The Ayodhya station has also undergone renovations to cater to the expected high footfall. The renovated station is capable of handling a daily footfall of 50,000 individuals and is slated to be operational by January 15.
Additionally, some trains are being reserved as chartered services for pilgrim groups heading to Ayodhya. The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), responsible for catering and ticketing, is gearing up to provide round-the-clock catering services for pilgrims during the anticipated 10-15 day influx. Multiple food stalls will be set up to meet the heightened demand.

Pilgrims visiting the birthplace of Lord Ram will also have a new attraction—a ride on an electric catamaran along the holy Saryu River. The catamaran, with a capacity to accommodate 100 persons, adds a unique and enjoyable dimension to the pilgrimage experience.
