Former Congress leader and industrialist Naveen Jindal joined Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 and said that he wants to contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's agenda of 'Viksit Bharat'.

As he quit the Congress party, Jindal thanked the party leadership through a post on X. He said, "I thank the Congress leadership and the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Today I am resigning from the primary membership of the Congress Party."

Naveen Jindal represented Congress Party in Parliament as MP from Kurukshetra for 10 years from 2004 to 2014.

In the presence of Vinod Tawde, the general secretary of the BJP, Jindal joined the party.

Tawde stated that Jindal's affiliation with the party will contribute to the government's goal of enhancing the nation's economy and well-being.

Tawde also mentioned that Jindal, who is the chairperson of Jindal Steel, has a strong passion for sports and education.

Praising the leadership of PM Modi and the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Jindal told the reporters, "In the last ten years, the country has moved forward under PM Modi’s leadership. Many historic steps such as the abrogation of Article 370 and the construction of the Ram Mandir (in Ayodhya) have been taken," as he joined the saffron party.

He added, "I want to contribute to PM Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’. I will walk with him shoulder to shoulder and help improve the lives of the 140 crore people of India."
