A massive fire broke out at a shopping complex in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida West on Thursday afternoon. Horrifying videos were doing rounds on social media of people jumping out of the windows from the third floor, where the blaze is believed to have started, to save their lives.
The mall is located at Gaur City 1, a well-known housing society in the extended part of Delhi’s sister city of Noida. Apart from hundreds of flats, it also houses many shops, food courts, restaurants, a gym and a club.
In a viral video shared by news agency PTI, a person can be heard screaming “Kud jaa, kud jaa! (Jump, jump!),” just as a person jumps out of the building amid a huge commotion.

Fire tenders were rushed to the mall. There are no reports of casualties. Further details are awaited.
